The first lecture was introduction of the course contents and the assessments followed by discussions to recognize the role of ICT in effective teaching and learning in Secondary schools.
Tony talked about the Information Technology related content management tools that are now widely used in most higher education academic institutions. Examples of these tools are including but not limited to Moodle, Blackboard, Elluminate and Adobe Connect. These tools provide diverse means to organise Text contents, audio and video files, podcasts, Journal links and Blogs. These online media-rich features are contributing a great deal to keep students motivated to learn and innovate encouraging E-Learning. E-Learning quickly became very famous due to the widespread availability of computers and rapid expansion to network bandwidth allowing to search thourgh world wide web, establish discussion forums, blogs, wiki and on-line collaborative activities. E-Learning made it possible to reach to geographical distant communities and yet yields results similar to face-to-face learning.
E-Learning has it own advantages and limitations. It definitely surpass the conventional way of learning and inevitably relies on specific skillset, equipments and atmosphere, which cannot be assumed avaiable at all the time.
In the E-Learning scanario, I also imagine the obsolence of teacher-student relationship and lack of measures to ascertain the desired level of students' engagement and positive digestion of the contents.

You make some interesting comments about 3-learninh in yout post: the question of teacher-student (and perhaps student-student?) relationships is obviously very important for learning. I think that it depends on how e-learning is used - as a replacement for something (which might be face-to-face, but in the tertiary world could be correspondence!) or as an additional method (sometimes called "Blecnded Learning").

Hi Mubashar, that's an interesting video you've got in here. I agree there are so many benefits to e-learning, providing an environment for the classroom beyond walls. In my opinion the success of e-learning programmes hangs on the interaction between the teacher and the students. The teacher really needs to drive the discussions, make suggestions and keep the ball rolling. I also think there's more opportunity for individual feedback so rather than obsolescence with the teacher student relationship there could be more opportunity for engagement.
